You scan, at home
Stick a tag on your gear and scan it once. Registration opens on its own — add your name and number and you're done. One code covers the whole pack.

Someone else scans it
You leave your favorite thing at the lodge, the rec center, the tournament, the park. Whoever picks it up scans the tag and can reach you right then. No app on either end.

I'm a paramedic and a long time Highlands patroller. I'm also a dad. I built this after a night at a hockey game when I realized my two kids had no way to get in touch with me if they ever got separated. Turns out gear needs the same thing.
