Direct Notice to Parents and Guardians

To comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, 16 CFR Part 312 (“COPPA”), myScanBandz (“us,” “we,” or “our”) provides parents and guardians (“you” or “your”) this Direct Notice.

We collect the following information from you:

  • Your first and last name
  • Your email
  • Your phone number(s)
  • Your relationship to the child

We collect this information for our products’ purpose to protect the safety of your child. 

We do not collect any information from children themselves. Any information we collect about your child is provided directly by you. The only information we will collect about your child is:

  • Your child’s first name only (not the last name)
  • Optional: Your child’s medical condition(s), should you choose to provide it and have it displayed when the product’s QR code is scanned

We collect this information to protect the safety of your child. When a third party scans the QR code on your child’s myScanBandz product, the child’s first name and your contact information will be displayed. We use this information solely for our product’s purpose to safely reunite lost children with their families.  If you choose to include information about your child’s medical condition(s), this information will be displayed as well. The purpose of including this optional medical information is to make third parties aware of a lost child’s medical condition(s) in case a medical emergency arises and you are not present. Your information and your child’s information will not be used or disclosed for any purpose unrelated to your child’s safety. We do not collect your child’s online contact information.

You may refuse to permit the use, and require deletion of, the information we collect. To exercise this right, please contact us at support@myscanbandz.com with the subject line "Delete Child Information." Include the product code and your contact information for verification. We will delete the information within 30 days of your request. 

Important: Deleting your child's information will deactivate the product. The QR code will no longer display your contact information.
