How It Works for Groups
myScanBandz works differently for groups than for individual families. Instead of every parent registering separately, one coordinator owns the registration and every band points back to that contact.
Order the bands you need
Wristbands for kids, gear tags for backpacks, helmets, lunch boxes, equipment — whatever fits your program. Volume discounts kick in at 20 wristbands or 50 gear tags.
One coordinator registers
Your program director, lead teacher, head counselor, or trip chaperone scans one code and registers the group. Enter the organization name, your contact phone, and any emergency instructions. Takes under two minutes. Every band in the order routes back to you.
Hand them out and head out
Kids wear the bands. Gear tags go on equipment. If anyone gets separated — at the field trip, on the slopes, in the parking lot — a finder scans the QR code and reaches you instantly. They see your organization name and your contact number. No app required for them. No app required for you.

I'm a Colorado ski patroller and paramedic. Years on both. I've been the person standing with a scared kid on the side of a run, trying to figure out who their parents are. I've been the dad waiting in a festival line wondering what I'd actually do if I looked down and one of my boys wasn't there.
The thought of losing track of one of my kids terrified me. So I built what I wished existed — a QR code on a wristband or a gear tag that anyone can scan to reach the right adult. No app, no account, no figuring out a stranger's phone. Just scan and call.
Then it happened to me in reverse. A stranger scanned the gear tag on my son's helmet at Snowmass and called me before I even knew he'd wandered off. That's the moment I knew the product works in the real world — and that's why I'm comfortable standing in front of a school director, camp coordinator, or ski program manager and telling them this is worth building into their program.

Issue bands to every student before the trip. The teacher or chaperone is the contact. When a kid wanders off at the zoo, museum, or assembly venue, one scan reaches the right adult — no PA announcements, no security desk relay.

Summer camps, day camps, after-school programs, scout troops. Hand out wristbands on day one and they last the whole session. If a camper gets separated on a hike or at a field day, a finder scans and calls the camp director directly.

I patrol in Colorado. I designed for this use case first. A QR gear tag on every helmet means if a kid takes the wrong lift or gets separated from the group, patrol or any guest can scan and reach the lesson lead — without ever knowing the kid's name.

Authorized-adult registration. When a coach, teacher, counselor, or chaperone registers a group, the consent flow explicitly confirms they're 18+ and authorized to register minors in that program. Built in, not bolted on.
No child personal info collected. A group registration stores your organization name and your contact info — that's it. We don't ask for individual kid names, photos, birthdays, or any details that wouldn't already be in your roster.
Visible only when scanned. Your contact info isn't searchable, isn't public, isn't sold. It only displays to someone holding the physical band and scanning the QR code on it.
Reunification, not tracking. No app. No GPS pings. No always-on location. The bands and tags don't transmit anything until someone scans them. It's a reunification tool — that's the whole job.
